Universal sets a bunch of 2022 release dates

(UTV | Colombo) – Universal Pictures have set aside a number of release dates in 2022 for a bunch of upcoming and untitled event films from the studio. The studio hasn’t revealed what any of these titles will be, but is setting aside these placeholder dates for them.

The dates set aside include January 14th 2022, February 11th 2022, June 10th 2022, July 22nd 2022 and November 18th 2022. That January date will see it go up against “Nimona” and a “Sesame Street” film while the February one will go up against Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

The dates come as the war of words between Universal and exhibitors last week has quietly settled down in recent days. Though the detente presently continues, the studio is more focused on itself at the moment as NBCUniveral is undergoing a sweeping new re-organization, breaking down the walls between its TV and news divisions under new mandates from CEO Jeff Shell.
