MRP on sugar removed

(UTV | COVID-19) – The Maximum Retail Price (MRP) imposed on sugar has been removed by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).

The Gazette Notification in this regard was issued effective from yesterday (28).

A MRP was last imposed on sugar on 12 October, 2018.

According to the Gazette Notification, at the time, a kilogramme of wholesale white sugar was to be sold at Rs. 92, a kilogramme of packeted sugar at Rs. 105 while the retail price of a kilogramme of sugar was Rs. 100.
