“Brothers in Arms” becomes a series

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Gearbox Entertainment and showrunner Scott Rosenbaum (“Queen of the South,” “V”) are set to adapt the shooter video game “Brothers in Arms” for television.

“Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30” debuted in 2005 and centered on a group of paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines on D-Day. the story was based on true events of the historic Mission Albany of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, and the games success launched a series of titles across various consoles and mobile devices.

The first season is inspired by true events in World War II and the initial episodes will focus on a once-confidential operation called Exercise Tiger, a ‘rehearsal’ for D-Day that went disastrously wrong as almost 800 U.S. servicemen were killed.

The story will center on a group of eight men who must rescue their colonel from Axis powers before the enemy can learn of D-Day plans, but Rosenbaum says it will also feature characters from both sides of the historical conflict, including real-life figures from World War II.

Rosenbaum will serve as showrunner as well as executive producer alongside Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. Jean-Julien Baronnet, Richard Whelan and Sean Haran will also produce. Directors are currently being sought, as is an ambitious broadcast partner.
