Island-wide curfew to be lifted on Monday

(UTV | COVID-19) – Island-wide curfew is currently in effect as of 8.00 PM yesterday (24), and the curfew will remain in place until Monday (27).

Accordingly, the curfew imposed island-wide, including in areas designated as High Risk Zones for the spread of COVID-19, namely the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam Districts, is due to be lifted on Monday (27) at 5.00 in the morning.

Curfew will also be lifted in the Akkaraipattu, Alawathugoda, and Warakapola Police Zones.

However, it will remain entirely prohibited for anyone to enter or exit the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam Districts.

Meanwhile, conditions laid down in respect to the maintenance of essential services and agricultural activities during curfew remain unchanged.
