More details on PS4’s “Ghost of Tsushima”

(UTV | COLOMBO) – While “The Last of Us Part II” has been delayed, that has seemingly left “Infamous” developer Sucker Punch’s “Ghost of Tsushima” as Sony PlayStation’s major exclusive title for the year.

The game takes place in Japan in 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan, until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back

Now, some new details about the highly-anticipated game have been revealed in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine. First up, the game is striving hard for realism and as a result it will not feature waypoints – thus allowing gamers to navigate the island of Tsushima’s lush environments more realistically.

As a result, you have to choose where to explore next using landmarks and your knowledge of the world which is said to have a minimalist nature. Time in the story will pass as you explore, with titles telling you how much time it has been since the invasion began.

In addition, the strength of a side-character or ally’s bond to the lead characer Jin will be based solely on player-choice and disagreements could lead to violence. Players can also take a stealth-driven or full-on action approach to infiltrate Mongol camps and Mongol-occupied castles.

The game remains on track to launch this summer on June 26th.
