Sri Lanka confirms 198th COVID-19 case

The number of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has increased to 198.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said one more individual tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon. Meanwhile, 137 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment at three hospitals in the country.

According to the Health Ministry, 86 COVID-19 patients are being treated at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

Meanwhile, 165 persons including one foreign national are currently under observation over fears that they may have contracted the novel coronavirus in the country.

The suspected cases are currently housed at 28 hospitals. 54 others who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered after receiving medical treatment.
