Two more COVID-19 cases confirmed, 52 in total

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Two more COVID-19 cases were confirmed today in Sri Lanka to bring the number of persons infected by the novel coronavirus to 52.

Accordingly, 53 COVID-19 cases in total have been reported thus far with one recovery.

All 52 active cases are currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health confirmed that 243 persons including four foreign nationals are under observation over coronavirus concerns.

Accordingly, persons who are suspected to have contracted the virus have been admitted to 16 hospitals across the country.

85 persons including two foreign nationals are under observation at the IDH.
