Jaffna Uni. Shooting Incident: Five Police officers remanded

(UDHAYAM, JAFFNA) – Five Police officers arrested in connection with the murder of two Jaffna University students have been remanded till the 27th of January.

The five Police officers arrested on suspicion in connection to the murder of two students of the University of Jaffna have been remanded till the 27th of January.

The order was issued by Jaffna Magistrate K Sadish. Court ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to submit a progress report of the case during the next court hearing.

Furthermore, Jaffna Magistrate K Sadish ordered the Mullaitivu OIC be present in court on the 27th of January.

On the 20th of October last year, the Police Headquarters announced that the two Jaffna University students succumbed to injuries after meeting with an accident.

However, the Post-Mortem examinations conducted later revealed the two youth were shot and killed.
