Court orders the arrest of the Divulapitiya OIC

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Senior Superintendent of Police of Negombo was today ordered to obtain an open warrant for the arrest of the Police Officer-in-Charge of the Divulapitiya Police.

The order was issued by the Minuwangoda Magistrate and District Judge Kesara CA Samaradiwakara.

The OIC is charged with failing to appear before Court to table details on four suspects presently in remand custody over a case related to the possession of more than 36 kilograms of heroin.

The suspects were arrested on the 18th of October 2019 at a residence in Divulapitiya.

The OIC of Divulapitiya, who was issued notice to appear before Court today, was not present during the hearing.
