8,800 acres of land in Jaffna released

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Commander of the Security Forces in Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya says 8800 acres of land belonging to area residents have been released thus far.

The Commander speaking at an event held in Jaffna stated that only a small quantity of land remains yet to be released to their owners, however adding that prompt steps will be taken to return the remaining land.

The Major General noted that over 90% of residential public land in the North has been released at present.
