Navy assists Oceanography research of Ruhuna University students

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A group of students in the University of Ruhuna conducted a research on Oceanography at seas off Rumassala with the assistant of the Sri Lanka Navy on 26th January 2020.

Seventeen (17) 2nd year students and ten (10) staff personnel of the Oceanography and Geography Research Unit of the Ruhuna University participated in this programme and it was conducted to take saline water samples from Rumassala sea area for laboratory analysis in view of enhancing the practical knowledge of the students.

A naval craft onboard sailors was deployed to assists the research work, on the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area. With the assistant of the naval personnel the research activities were successfully completed and the Ruhuna university students who joined the research paid their gratitude for the SL Navy. (SLN)
