Aluthgamage’s case to be heard in March

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President’s Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetty representing State Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage today requested the Colombo High Court to postpone the hearing of the misappropriation case filed against the State Minister.

The President’s Counsel informed Court that he was making the request based on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s decision to appoint a Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate the alleged interferences into the judiciary including judges and officials carrying out investigations into cases over the past few years.

The case is being heard against State Minister Aluthgamage on charges of misappropriating Rs.30.9 million belonging to a trade union.

Accordingly Colombo High Court judge Aditya Patabendige ordered the evidence hearing to continue on the 10th of March.
