Haputhale crash: 5 probes to be presented

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Court has ordered five separate divisions to present details of ongoing investigations into the crash of the Sri Lanka Air Force Y-12 plane in Haputhale last morning, in court.

The order was issued by Bandarawela Magistrate Keerthi Kumburuhena, when details of the accident were produced by the Haputhale Police.

Accordingly the Government Analyst’s Department, Sri Lanka Air Force, Department of Meteorology, the Judicial Medical Officer of the Badulla General Hospital and the Survey Department have been ordered to produce details from relevant investigations before court, on the 23rd of January.

Meanwhile Air Force Commander Air Marshall Sumangala Dias today visited the site of the crash for an inspection.

Haputhale Police stated investigations are being conducted at present, by the Government Analyst and a specialist Air-Force team at the site.

The Post-Mortem examinations of the 4 Air-Force personnel who perished in the crash are currently underway at the Badulla General Hospital.
