Govt. earns Rs.1bn in revenue from fines

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The government has earned a 1.2 billion rupees in revenue from fines, through raids carried out by the Sri Lanka Customs in 2019.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, Additional Customs Director Sunil Jayaratne said nearly 59 kilograms of gold were also seized during the last year.

He said the Customs will increase operations during the New Year.
