Country’s longest cycle race SLT Speed Up Sawariya concludes at Dambulla

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s longest across the country cycle race organized by the Sri Lanka Telecom successfully came to an end on Saturday in Dambulla. The final day men’s race started from Trincomalee and travelled through Kantale, Habarana, Inamaluwa and finished at Dambulla.

The fifth day winner was Jeewan Jayasinghe of Sri Lanka Air Force. The first runner-up was Pasindu Lakshan of Sri Lanka Navy and second runner-up Madhushanka Fernando of Sri Lanka Air Force.

The women’s race started from Kurunegala and travelled through Malsiripura, Galewela, and reached the finishing point at Dambulla. The second day winner was Dinesha Dilrukshi of Sri Lanka Air Force. The first runner-up was U.N Kumarasinghe of Sri Lanka Army and second runner-up was B.L.S. Dilhani of Sri Lanka Army.

The first-ever competitive cycling event for juniors started from Dambulla and travelled through Kakirawa, Hambarana and reached the finishing point at Dambulla. The winner was T.V.K.M. Dilmina of Stafernil Cycling Club. The first runners-up was U.N Kumarasinghe of Silver Star Club and the second runner-up was A. Dinusha Saranga of Kelani Cycling Club. (DN)
