Three arrested over a theft in Nittambuwa

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Three suspects have been arrested in connection to a robbery at a filling station in Nittambuwa along with a locally manufactured firearm.

The suspects were arrested during a raid carried out following a tip off received by officers attached to the Peliyagoda District Crimes Unit.

The trio between the ages of 23-40, are residents of Nittambuwa.

The suspects had broken into a filling station in Nittambuwa on the 28th of April 2018 and stolen nearly Rs.500,000 in cash.

Police also meanwhile seized three face masks and several equipment used to carry out the robbery.

The suspects are due to be handed over to the Nittambuwa Police for further investigations.
