Police recover weapons, ammo, following information received from arrested Pallai Hospital JMO

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police have recovered a haul of ammunition based on information received from the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) of the Pallai Hospital in Jaffna who was arrested last week.

The JMO, 41-year old Sinnaiyyah Sivaruban, was arrested on terrorism charges and is being questioned by the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID), police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Among the seized ammunition and weapons which had been hidden in the Karandiya area were an AK 47 gun with two magazines and 120 rounds of ammunition, 11 live hand grenades, and ten kilos of PE 10 explosives.

Further investigations are being carried out by the TID.
