(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Emergency Regulations that was in force will not be extended, the Ministry of Defence announced.
However, in keeping with the powers vested on President Maithripala Sirisena under Section Number 12 of the Public Security Ordinance, the Security Forces will be utilised to assist the Police to maintain public security, law and order in each District.
