President opens newly built Kotmale dairy products manufacturing company in Meerigama

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena opened a newly built Kotmale dairy products manufacturing factory in Meerigama on Monday (03). The production complex was built by the Cargills (Ceylon) PLC by infusing a huge investment into the local dairy industry in Sri Lanka.

The President opened the factory by unveiling the plaque and later he made an inspection tour of the premises.

President Sirisena presented scholarships to students under the Sarudina project of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC. The President also presented Laptop Computers to the students.

A scholarship recipient Paskaran Shyanuga, a student from Kilinochchi Barati Vidyalaya address the audience and the President calling to the student inquired into well-being of her.

During this cordial discussion the student apprised the President regarding several shortages faced by their school. The President promised to take steps to fulfill those shortages.

Ministers Arjuna Ranatunga, P. Harrison, the Chairman of Cargills, Louis R Page, Deputy Chairman, Ranjit Page and many others participated in this event.
