Public issues are not being discussed – MP Vidura Wickramanayake

(UTV|COLOMBO) – United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka says the prevailing issues in the country will not be solved by focusing attention on candidates at a time when a Presidential Election has not been called.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal, MP Wickramanayaka said none of the current issues faced by the public are being discussed at present.

He claimed media and politicians were creating a distraction and preventing the public from dealing with actual issues.

The MP said the public has day-to-day and long-term issues that need to be addressed, claiming that these concerns are being disregarded.

MP Wickramanayake noted while the public starves, politicians speak of Presidential candidates, stating that there are close to four to five months until the next election.
