DMC says drought in 17 districts

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) on Monday (08) stated that 17 administrative districts in the country face a shortage of drinking water as a result of the prevailing drought.

Accordingly, the Ampara, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Hambantota, Jaffna, Kegalle, Kilinochchi, Kurunegala, Mannar, Matale, Moneragala, Mullaitivu, Polonnaruwa, Puttalam, Ratnapura, Trincomalee, and Vavuniya Districts are affected by the lack of adequate drinking water.
