Windy condition to continue – Met. Dept.

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Windy condition over the island and showery condition in the south-western part is likely to continue during next few days, the Department of Meteorology stated on Saturday (22).

There is a high possibility to occur strong gusty winds up to 50-60 kmph in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and North-central provinces and in Trincomalee and Monaragala districts. Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40-50 kmph elsewhere.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Several spells of showers will occur in North-western province and in Hambantota district.

Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces. Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Western province and in Galle and Matara districts.
