Rishad proves Weerawansa’s Parliamentary claims fabricated [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) slammed an Opposition Parliamentarian in Parliament on Tuesday (18) for damaging and wild allegations made in the House, which falsely claimed that ACMC Leader was related through his family to a woman suicide bomber identified in 21 April Easter Sunday bombings.

Addressing the Parliament, ACMC Leader, Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen called Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa’s bluff on his allegations linking Parliamentarian Bathiudeen’s family to Fathima Ilham, identified as the Dematagoda woman suicide bomber in Easter Sunday terror attacks. Parliamentarian Bathiudeen also strongly voiced that Parliamentarian Weerawansa was sowing ethnic hatred in the country by making such false claims not just in recent times but ‘Over a period of time.’

“Recently, in my absence in Parliament, Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa stated that the Dematagoda woman suicide bomber identified in Easter Sunday terrorist attacks was related to my family. Parliamentarian Weerawansa reportedly said, “A daughter of brother of Rishad Bathiudeen’s mother was one of the Dematagoda suicide bombers”. Honourable Speaker, my mother has no any brothers. Therefore this statement was absolutely false,” said Parliamentarian Bathiudeen and added, “Honourable Parliamentarian Weerawansa has been making such false statements in this august House over a long period of time. I would like to stress that by making such false allegations Parliamentarian Weerawansa has been trying to spread ethnic hatred in Sri Lanka since the day of the bombings. As all his wild allegations against me have been proven to be false, he has even skipped lodging any complaint against me with the Police. And I should also point out that he is abusing the House’ privileges by making such wild allegations against me.”
