Several new houses in North & East vested with the public

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The first phase of the 10,000 houses concept in the Northern and Eastern Provinces was vested with the public today under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The function got underway in Nandunkerni, Jaffna.

Several home appliances were also awarded at the occasion.

The Office of the Prime Minister said the livelihoods and other information of residents were discussed.

The project that commenced in January 2018 will see the construction of 4,750 houses, 3,600 in the North and 1,150 in the East.

The second phase, that will see the construction of 5,250 houses commenced in May, with 3,900 houses being built in the North and 1,350 houses in the East.
