“brutal ISIS organisation will not be allowed to destabilise the country’s economy” – PM Ranil Wickramasinghe

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the brutal ISIS organisation will not be allowed to destabilise the country’s economy and to disrupt the day to day activities of the Sri Lanka public.

Speaking during an event in Ratnapura, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the terrorists by murdering the innocent attempted to cripple the economy and bring the country to a standstill.

The Prime Minister however said the present administration will continue to work for the peace, reconciliation and prosperity of Sri Lanka through its socio-economic programmes.

Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe stressed that the threat of ISIS organisation could surface on multiple levels unlike the LTTE and therefore emphasised the importance of eliminating the threat altogether.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also commended the clergy for playing a key role in maintaining peace in the country despite the brutal killings.

The Prime Minister also urged the general public not to be misled by unsubstantiated reports circulated by parties with vested interest.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe added that the development projects initiated by the government will not be stalled despite the efforts of brutal terrorists on Easter Sunday.
