Kaling, Chopra team for wedding comedy

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Universal Pictures has reportedly won the rights to an untitled America and India-set comedy which will team actresses Mindy Kaling and Priyanka Chopra.

Kaling will write with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-creator Dan Goor and she will potentially direct the two-hander which serves as a star vehicle for the “Quantico” and “The Mindy Project” actresses.

The story revolves around a big wedding in India and the ensuing culture clashes. Universal will reportedly beat out the likes of Legendary, Sony, Netflix and Amazon Studios.
