GMOA and President to further discuss SAITM

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers Association  (GMOA) and President Maithripala Sirisena are due to engage in another round of discussions pertaining to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) today (13th Monday).

Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Naveen de Soysa said the future course of action following discussions will be decided thereafter.

The GMOA has engaged in discussions with the President and other stakeholders of SAITM throughout the past few months.

The GMOA stands opposed to SAITM claiming the institute cannot be recognised as a legal medical degree awarding body.
