The Prison Guard who was arrested suspended from work

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The services of the Prison Guard Lalith Kumara who arrived in Sri Lanka together with Nadeemal Perera subsequent to being deported from Dubai have been suspended.

His services have been suspended due to going abroad without informing authorities and Prisons Commissioner General Jayasiri Tennakone said that the Prisons Department has launched an investigation regarding him as well.

Soon after returning to the island yesterday he was questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department.

Subsequently he was handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division and there he was arrested. The Division said that he is being interrogated further.
