CID Police Sergeant arrested for bribery

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A Police Sergeant who solicited a bribe of Rs. 80,000 was arrested by the Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on Thursday (07) while receiving a bribe from a businessman in Sapugaskanda.

It is learnt that the Police Sergeant attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) allegedly solicited a bribe from the businessman to withdraw a Court case.
