Former Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman sentenced to 5-years in prison

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Former Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lakshman Vidanapathirana who was arrested when solicited a bribe of Rs. 3 million to resolve a land issue in Nagoda, Kalutara in 2012, has sentenced to five-years in prison by the Colombo High Court on Thursday (07).

Vidanapathirana and his Office Assistant were arrested at his Office by the Officials attached to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) in 2012 when solicited the bribe from a businessman in Kalutara to develop a land and provide road access to it.
