Solih to head to Sri Lanka for Independence Day celebrations

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be travelling to Sri Lanka to join their Independence Day celebrations, stated the Maldives President’s Office.

The President will be in the neighbouring country from 03 to 05 February, to join the country’s Independence Day celebration which is to be held on the 4th, raajje.mv reported.

The President’s Office has not disclosed details of the trip.

This is Solih’s first official trip to Sri Lanka since becoming President. However, he had made on an unofficial trip to the neighbouring nation last December.

This is also his third state visit since assuming office last 17 November. His first visit was to India and second to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
