Fairly strong gusty winds expected – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected over North-Western, Eastern, Uva, North-Central and Western Provinces, and in Hambanthota District, the Department of Meteorology stated.

Fairly colder nights and mornings are expected over most parts of the island during next few days.

Several spells of light showers will occur in Western Province, and in Batticaloa and Ampara Districts, the Met. Department stressed.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Rathnapura, Galle, Matara and Kaluthara Districts after 2.00 PM. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
