Police Constable sentenced to Jail for accepting bribes

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Colombo High Court Judge Shashi Mahendran sentenced a police constable to 8 years rigorous imprisonment after being found guilty of accepting bribes totalling three thousand rupees.

In 2014, the arrest took place as the policeman accepted the bribe from a driver who promised not to take legal action.

In addition to the prison sentence, the constable was fined 20 thousand rupees.
