Xi Jinping sends New Year greetings to Rajapaksa

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Following the recently settled political turmoil in Sri Lanka, Chinese President Xi Jinping has emerged as one of the first world leaders to send New Year greetings to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, known for his pro-Beijing stance.

The greeting was conveyed to Rajapaksa by the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Cheng Xueyuan.
