Pigeon Island temporarily closed

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Wildlife Conservation unit says that the Pigeon Island National Park in Trincomalee has to be closed indefinitely.

This decision has been taken due to the rough nature of the Nilaweli Sea in these days.

Unpredictable nature of sea due toNorth East monsoon rains this step was taken to ensure the safety of tourists, Park Keeper P.H Sunil Shantha said.

He further said, that this situation will continue until the end of this month and when priority is given to the safety of tourists during the normal times.
