(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), Sajith Premadasa will submit a vote of Confidence Motion in Parliament on Wednesday (12) to prove UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe commands the confidence of Parliament to function as the Prime Minister.

Parliament will take up a motion to express confidence in ousted Prime Minister today, as the political crisis following Wickremesinghe’s controversial sacking by President Maithripala Sirisena intensified.

The motion has been listed for which no dates have been fixed, Parliamentary Officials said. However, Parliament meets today and the day’s agenda is to be determined on the same day. If there is no firm indication, it will be taken up today itself, they said.
