Tusker killing in Udawalawe causes concern

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa on Saturday (01) raised concerns over gun violence, following the discovery of a tusker aged 10 – 12-years, shot dead inside Udawalawe National Park in close proximity to Udawalawe Reservoir.

“Another one of Sri Lanka’s treasure wasted due to ineffective action. Really sad to see another tusker killed in this manner in Udawalawe. Seems like gun violence is going to be a key challenge that needs to be addressed by the Government,” Rajapaksa tweeted.
