Former NSB Chairman given suspended sentence

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Former NSB Chairman Pradeep Kariyawasam who was convicted for purchasing overvalued TFC shares by NSB, given suspended sentence and Rs.300,000 fine.

The Commission to Inve-stigate into Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed report before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court against former Chairman of the National Savings Bank (NSB) Pradeep Kariyawasam, accusing him of causing a monetary loss of Rs. 391 million to the Government by the unlawful purchases of shares of The Finance Company.
