UNP writes to Facebook urging to safeguard user information from Government

(UTV|COLOMBO) – United National Party (UNP) has written to the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg urging to protect privacy and confidentiality of Sri Lankan Facebook users.

In a letter, UNP Chairman Kabir Hashim stated that Facebook must refrain from engaging with the Sri Lankan Government, and it is vital the user information be safeguarded as the current Administration will most likely use these in ways which are constitutionally prohibited.
