Parliamentary consent required to hold Provincial Council Election

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The approval of Parliament should be obtained if the forthcoming Provincial Council Elections are held under the previous system, the Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohamed stated.

He further stressed that the Provincial Council Elections will be permitted to hold within two-months following the approval of necessary amendments to the Provincial Council Elections Act.
