Air passenger detained with foreign currency worth over Rs. 10 million

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A passenger was detained at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with foreign currency worth Rs. 10.91 million.

58-Year-old passenger was arrested while attempting to smuggle the currency out of Sri Lanka.

Stock of foreign currency was declared forfeit and penalty amounts to Rs. 100,000 imposed on the passenger.
