(UTV|COLOMBO) – The 43rdDhamma Sabha Mandapa of the “SadahamYatra”sermon which takes place every Poya day centered on a main Buddhist shrine of the island was held in front of the Bodhi Tree of the President’s office on the Vap full moon day. This event took place under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. The sermon was delivered byVen. Matara Mahinda Thero.
It is significant that this kind of Dhamma Sabha took place for the first time in front of the Bodhi Tree of the President’s house.
A golden fence was built around the Bodhi Tree on behalf of celebrating the previous birthday of the President while the unveiling of the Ata wisiBuddha statues were also unveiled on this occasion.
President Sirisena listened to the dhammasermon
after obtaining blessings of the Mahasangha.
Mrs. Jayanthi Sirisena, Ministers, Secretary to the President Udaya R. Senevirathne, and senior members of the President’s office, the staff and students of Dhamma Schools were among those who listened thedhamma sermon.
