Government to streamline development in North and East

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena said that the Government would extend every possible assistance to streamline the developmental activities in the North and East to provide maximum benefits to the people.

He said this during a discussion with the representatives of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) on Wednesday (17) in Parliament. The issues pertaining to development activities and the need for streamlining them and adverse affects of inclement weather were discussed during the meeting.

The delegation included Opposition Leader R. Sambanthan and Parliamentarian M. A. Sumanthiran.

The President also held a meeting with the representatives of Tamil Progressive Front where the issues pertaining to upcountry Tamils such as their wage issues and development activities were discussed.

Tamil Progressive Front Leader, Minister Mano Ganeshan, Minister Palani Digambaran, and State Minister V. S. Radhakrishnan attended this meeting.
