NCPI increases in January

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Department of Census and Statistics has released the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) for the month of January 2017.

According to that, the NCPI has been calculated as 119.3 for January 2017 and is an increase of 1.3 points or a percentage of 1.1 compared to the previous month’s (December) index of 118.0.

The Year on Year inflation based on NCPI has increased to 6.5% in the same month from 4.2% in December 2016.
