Tobacco and liquor seized at customs

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The customs seized a stock of cigarettes, suspected be illegally imported from Dubai, today (21st Tuesday) morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). It was found in the luggage of a Chinese woman who arrived on a flight at 4.55 am. The cigarettes were worth Rs. 1.2 million.

In a separate case, the Customs seized over 10 kilogrammes of tobacco powder and a number of expensive liquor bottles. It was found in the luggage of two Chinese nationals.
