Five Brigadiers and 25 lieutenant colonels promoted by President

(UTV|COLOMBO) Military spokesman Brig. Sumith Atapattu told to the media at a press conference that President Maithripala Sirisena had promoted five Brigadiers and 25 Lieutenant Colonels.

The five Brigadiers have been promoted to the rank of Major General and Lieutenant Colonels.

Among the Brigadiers who had promoted were four Brigadiers who were disabled during the war, those are:

  • Sri Lanka Gajaba Regiment – D.G.I.P Gamage
  • Sinha Regiment – Rajiva Wickremasinghe
  • Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment – JR Ampēmohoṭṭi
  • Gamunu Regiment – WHM Manatunga.

In addition, the active staff at present V.A.T.N. Dematanpitiya is among the brigadiers who were promoted to the rank of Major General.
