President says Sri Lanka will go ahead with death penalty to drug dealers

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena on Wednesday (22) emphasised that the capital punishment will be implemented in Sri Lanka.

The President made these remarks participating in the inauguration ceremony of reconstructed Myliddy Fishery Harbour and re-launching of the operational works of the harbour, on Wednesday (22).

Expressing his views regarding the drug menace which is challenge to the whole country including the North said that without any reluctance steps will be taken to enforce the rules and regulations including the capital punishment against persons who engaged in drug smuggling even when they are in prison.
