Showers expected over South-Western parts – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The possibility of increasing showery condition and wind speed to some extent is still high over the island, particularly in the South-Western part in today (14) and tomorrow (15), the Department of Meteorology said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North-Western Provinces, and in Galle, Matara Districts.

Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Kaluthara District, and above 50mm can be expected at some places in Kurunegala District.

Light showers will occur in Anuradhapura, Mannar and Hambantota Districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 50 kmph can be expected over the island particularly, in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western, North-Central and Uva Provinces.
