Railway Strike: Trade Unions threaten to extend strike

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The strike will escalate tomorrow (11) if the Government fail to provide solutions to the demands by today (10), the collective of Railway Trade Unions warned.

According to the Locomotive Engineering Operators’ Union, the final decision will be reached at the Executive Committee meeting scheduled to be held this evening.

Several Railway Trade Unions including Drivers and Guards have launched a lightning strike at 3.00 PM on Wednesday (08) bringing train services to a halt.
