(UTV|COLOMBO) President Maithripala Sirisena invited all to commit themselves to achieve goals of national unity and religious reconciliation with the dawn of development across the island.
The President also said that the Government has implemented island wide massive programmes to alleviate the poverty of the people and to deliver development benefits to all communities irrespective of race, ethnicity and religion differences.
He made these remarks participating in an event held at the Lankapura Al Hilal Pura Jumma Mosque, yesterday (03).
Another 180 development projects which have been completed under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa (Awakening of Polonnaruwa)” District Development Programme vested in the public in Polonnaruwa on 01st, 02nd and 03rd August with the participation of the President, the Prime Minister, Ministers, intellectuals and artistes.
During this event the Ministers and MPs pointed out that the President had demonstrated the true leadership quality without forgetting the people of the village who were the strength at the beginning of his political journey. They also said that the name of President Maithripala Sirisena will be carved in the history as the leader who awakened the historic Pulatisipura after the era of ancient kings.
It is significant that among the projects vested in the public during the last three days, a development project implemented in all the schools of the district were vested in the students, and many development projects including expand the facilities in the health sector, road development, providing of drinking water facilities and development of religious places were carried out.
The development activities implemented at the Al Hilal Pura Jumma Mosque were vested in the public by the President. Bakker Moulavi conducted a special prayers to invoke blessings on President.
Meanwhile the construction of the building of boarding places for stdent Bhikkus of the Hikuragdamana Kashyapa pirivena spending Rs.14 million also started by the President.
The three floor class room building of Habarana Maha Vidyalaya built under the nearest school is the best school program was vested with the students where residence for the teachers was also opened by the President.
The President who went to the college was warmly welcomed by the students.
Hiruni Sankapla and Nimesha Sadamini who performed well in the last G.C.E.O/L examination were presented with gifts by the President. A portrait carrying the image of the President sketched by Vimukthi Suneth was also presented to the President. A special token of appreciation was presented to the President by the Principal of the college, E.M.P. Ekanayake.
Several participants including SLFP youth leader Shantha Bandara were present in this event.
Vesting the new class room of the Sewamuktha Kadawura Maha Vidyalaya of Thamankaduwa Divisional Secretariat with the students and vesting the new class room building of Weerapura Kanishta Vidyalaya with the students and the primary education centre built in Lankapura Maha Vidyalaya was conducted by Minister Sarath Amunugama, Member of Parliament Sydney Jayarathna, and Chief Minister of North Central Province Peshala Jayarathne.
The new classroom building of Lankapura Jayanthi Kanishta Vidyalaya and Kegalugama Kanishta Vidyalaya was vested with the students by Minister Piyasena Gamage, and Member of Parliament Nalaka Kollonne.
The two floor new class room building of Lankapura Kirimatiya Kanishta vidyalaya and the residence for sangha of Sri Sudarshanaramaya of Patunugama, Pulasthigama was opened while Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Members of Parliament Wijepala Hettiarachchi, Malith Jayathilake were present at the event.
Opening the Dharmashala building built spending Rs.7 million in Thamankaduwa Sri Bodhirukkarama Vihara and vestng the new class room building of Parakrama Samudraya Maha Vidyalaya with the students also took place while Minister Sajith Premadasa and Lakshman Senevirathna, Deputy Minister karunarathna Paranavithana were present in the event.
New classroom building of Deewaragama Al-Madinah Muslim College and ill –Akra Muslim Primary School of Nelumpura were vested with the students by Deputy Minister Indika Bandaranayake and Champika Premadasa.
Minister Harin Fernando, State Minister Wasantha Senanayake, Deputy Minister kader Masthan, Isura Devapriya,Member of Parliament Ashu Marasighe, Chief Minister of Western Province were present at the occasion of Starting the construction of the new classroom building of Zahira Muslim Primary School of Thamankaduwa Divisional Secretariat.
The new library built in Lankapura Abhyapura Maha Vidyalaya and the arts and aesthetics units building built in Hukurakdamana Maha Vidyalaya spending Rs.4 million, and the dental clinic building built spending Rs.4 million was vested with the students by Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama.
Starting the construction of the two floor class room of Al Aksha Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, Diulana spending Rs.24 million was initiated by Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and State Minister Sriyani Wijeywickrema.
Vesting the new class room of Thamankaduwa Athumalpitiya Primary School with the students, and opening the community hall of Lakshyauyana and the Janapada Niladhari residence took place where Minister Vijith Vijithamuni Soysa and Gayantha Karunathilake were present.
Vesting the two floor class room building of Al Rifai Maha Vidyalaya of Lankapura with the students, starting the construction of the new classroom building of Sinhapura Primary School and initiating the development activities of Thamankaduwa Sri Sumanarama Viahra took place where the Chief Minister of Central Province Sarath Ekanayake, Deputy Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, Member of Parliament Thusitha Wijeymanna were present.
